For residents of  Ijeododo  community in Iba Local Council Development Area  of Lagos State,  the dream of having a befitting primary health centre finally came through recently, as First Bank recently donated  a multi-million naira  health care  facility for the use of its over 10,000 inhabitants.

Speaking at the commissioning, held in Owonikoko,, Agaye Area of the community, the Chief Executive Officer, First Bank, Dr. Adesola Adeduntan,  described the  commissioning as one of the many ways  the bank reiterates its  commitment and support to Lagos State government’s One Community At A Time (OCAAT) initiative.

Adeduntan, who was represented by Mr, Seyi Oyefeso, expressed the bank’s delight that ,with the commissioning of the modern health centre, the people of the community would now be able to conveniently  access quality  and timely health care, without having to travel  long distances.

While congratulating the people of the community on the  siting of the facility in the area, Adeduntan charged them to avail themselves of the various services provided by the bank to enhance their financial fortunes.

“Since we are confident that Ijeododo Community will become healthier through this facility, the people  will also become wealthier. That is why I’m imploring every member of this community to take advantage of the banking services provided, through our ever-growing network of branches and First Bank agents.

“You can also create your financial independence  by registering to be one of our over 200,000 agents in Nigeria, driving financial inclusion, by bridging the gap between the banked and the unbanked  member of the larger community,” he stated.

Commending the bank for  giving back to the society, the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu,  expressed the belief that the health facility would go a long way in improving healthcare services delivery  in the community, and complement the administration’s efforts at providing efficient and accessible  healthcare services  ot the people.



While calling other corporate organizations and individuals to toe the bank’s path, by partnering with the state government in addressing the challenges of the underserved communities in the state,  the governor however advised the community to take ownership of the facility and ensure it is put to good use, so as to encourage more of such initiatives in the community.
