In a bid to achieve inclusivity and collaboration, within the nation’s creative space, the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), the umbrella body for advertising professionals in Nigeria, has announced its decision to spread the tentacles of its annual Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF).

 

 

Speaking at a media parley organized by the association, in Lagos, recently, its President, Lanre Adisa,  stated that this year’s edition, scheduled for November, will see the Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN), a fellow sectoral group in the industry, being active participants.

 

 

The AAAN boss reiterated the commitment of the association to making the Awards remain true to its purpose of serving as a platform to showcase the best of creativity not only in Nigeria but also in the West African sub-region.

 

 

While commending the previous and present LAIF board members for raising the bar of creativity through the awards, the Adisa, who is also the President of the Heads of Advertising Sectoral Group (HASG)  described the on-boarding of MIPAN to this year’s edition as an eloquent testimony  to the power  of collaboration.

 

 

Unveiling the theme for the 2024 LAIF Awards, “Staying A-LAIF”, Chairman, LAIF Management Board, Jay Chukwuemeka described the 2024 edition of the Awards as building  on the idea of inclusion.

 

 

Chukwuemeka noted that despite the challenges confronting the industry and the nation as a whole,  big agencies and smaller agencies have continued to stay alive and thrive.

 

 

He disclosed that as part of efforts to stay relevant, the board will be introducing new categories of awards this year,  including  the LAIF Academy, a category that provides accredited AAAN agencies to participate by voting for their works through the newly introduced Agency Choice award.
