LaPRIGA 2023: Lagos NIPR introduces Sustainability Category

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos Chapter, said it is introducing a new category, ‘Best in Environment/Sustainability Campaign,’ to its array of awards at this year’s  Lagos Public  Relations Industry Gala and Awards, scheduled to hold in Lagos, on December 21, this year, in tune with its commitment to global environmental concerns.

Disclosing this at the press briefing on the event, held recently in Lagos, the Chairman of the Chapter, Mrs. Comfort Nwankwo, stated that the category is designed to encourage PR professionals engaged in environmental and sustainability campaigns to participate wholeheartedly.

Another highlight of this year’s award, she stated, is the addition of the  ‘Best in Public Sector Campaign’ category, alongside the existing ‘Outstanding Public Affairs Practitioner’ category, with a view to celebrating  innovative PR initiatives at all levels of governance.

While reiterating the Chapter’s commitment to setting higher standards in the industry, through the Awards, Nwakwo also expressed her delight at the increasing interests LaPRIGA has continued to garner among stakeholders in the industry.

Tagged  “The Game Changer”, this year’s edition of the awards seeks to reward campaigns,  embodying creativity and genuine game-changing impacts.

She stated that the winners of this year’s awards will be officially unveiled on December 21, after the voting exercise, by members, expected to hold between 27th and December 8, this year.

The Lagos NIPR boss added that the 2023 LaPRIGA will go beyond  the realm of communication practice to honour an outstanding individual, who lives with autism and developmental disorders, and has a remarkable track record of achievement in the corporate world, thereby aligning with the theme “The Game Changer.”
